NASHVILLE - DEL SHORES’ AUDITION WORKSHOP - 4/4

“AUDITIONING AND GETTING THE JOB”

Are you booking your auditions?  Do you think you should be doing better and can't understand why you aren't getting the job -- or more of them?  Here's your chance to jump-start your career.

Having been on the other side of the audition for years, I know what keeps good actors from getting the job -- and I know how to fix that.

I have designed this audition workshop for the actor who wants to work more.  It is simple, effective, with one simple goal – to book your auditions.

The class will consist of no more than 24 students.

A LOOK AT THE WORKSHOP:

"LECTURE AND DISCUSSION"

We will start the class with a lecture and discussion about auditioning.   Class members will have the opportunity to express how they feel about auditioning.  My goal is by day end is to get you to the place of loving the audition process.

 "THE MOCK AUDITION"

Each actor will get a 15-minute slot and walk into a "callback".  In that slot, you are to prepare a five-minute audition piece.  No monologues.  Choose a scene with a character that you are right for -- from any medium -- play, TV or film.  Treat this like a real acting audition and DO NOT choose material you have performed before.  And PREPARE!  I will give you guidance, adjustments, direction and help you become a stronger auditioner, to get rid of nerves, to walk in with confidence, to be special and stand out and most importantly, to book the job.  You will audition solo, but your classmates will be observing.  The other character(s) in the scene will be read by our mock “casting director” Jason Dottley who stars as “Ty” in Sordid Lives: The Series. And yes, you may use my material.

Please read the testimonials on my website to know what kind of teacher/director I am.  I am known as an actor's director.  I adore actors, respect them completely, yes, I'm honest, but I'm constructive, nurturing and not cruel or mean.   I'm big on making strong choices, using the given circumstances of the scene; understanding the character.  I'm a believer of sense memory, and I work to help you get rid of your nerves, which will keep you from connecting to the role.   We will have fun, but we will work hard.

This class is geared for actors who are serious about their craft.  We will have fun, but we will work hard.  I advise that students stay for as much of the class as possible because watching your fellow actors audition can sometimes be more valuable than your own audition.  Beginners are welcome, but I will be honest and tell you if I don't think you are ready to audition professionally and should study more.  I believe strongly that it is detrimental to begin auditioning if you are not ready.

COST:  The cost of the workshop is $95.

AUDITORS:  Non-actors or just curious about acting?  You are welcome to audit the workshop for only $25 per day.  Auditors must register to secure a place.

REGISTERING:  To register for the workshop or to audit, email Jamie McMillan, my assistant, at DelSho@aol.com to reserve your slot.  Be sure to include your phone number.  The class will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.  You will receive a call from Jamie McMillan to arrange payment.  You may pay with a Visa/MC or PayPal.   ..

PLACE AND TIME:  The Actors Bridge Studio, NEUHOFF, 100 MONROE ST, Nashville, TN 37208.  The workshop begins at 9 A.M. sharp and ends by 6 P.M.  There will be an hour lunch break between 1-2.
