statement of solidariity

At our core, Actors Bridge exists to tell the stories Nashville needs to hear. We seek to amplify the voices that have too long been ignored or silenced in our culture.

Today, the voices we must lift are those of our Black sisters and brothers with whom we stand in solidarity.

We promise to use our privilege to speak out against racism everywhere we see it. We will hold space for radical truthtelling and bringing communities into conversation who might not otherwise listen to understand.

We bear witness to the fatigue and exhaustion of Black Americans living under the constant threat of violence and oppression at the hands of white people. We acknowledge the systemic racism in which we live and pledge to do our part to dismantle it.

We believe Gwendolyn Brooks’ powerful words: “We are each other’s harvest; we are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond.”
