Embodied Script Analysis with Lori Triolo | May 5 - June 9
This six-week course integrates Fitzmaurice Voicework, Meisner Technique, and other embodied practices to deepen script analysis through the actor’s body, voice, and behavior.
The first three weeks meet from 6-9pm on Zoom and focus on foundational analysis, writing assignments, and guided vocal and behavioral explorations that connect textual clues to lived physical and emotional impulses.
The final three weeks take place from 6-9pm in person and apply this analytical work through embodied exercises, partner work, and scene investigation. Students will engage in short written reflections, character research, and structured analysis alongside physical and vocal practices that bring the text into action.
By combining academic inquiry with experiential exploration, participants develop practical tools for uncovering character, clarifying objectives, and activating scripts in performance.

What is the Meisner Technique?
The Meisner Technique is a simple yet powerful series of exercises that help actors develop a deep understanding of themselves and their impulses. Meet Lori Triolo
Lori Triolo is a certified teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework® and a long-time teacher of The Meisner Technique. She was trained by Sanford Meisner and was granted permission to teach after graduating from The Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC.
She created FitzMeisner® as a way of blending the best of these two techniques in service of freeing actors to be more emotionally truthful in performance. Lori also spent time on the faculty for the full time conservatory program at The Neighborhood Playhouse.

Schedule and Attendance
Embodied Script Analysis: Voice, Behavior, and Text meets on Tuesdays from 6pm-9pm. May 5-19 will meet on Zoom. May 26- June 9 will meet in person at Actors Bridge. To preserve the privacy of all attendees, online classes will not be recorded and cannot be made up. Attendance for the entire series is required. Please, no exceptions.
