This course introduces the fundamental exercises of the Meisner Technique and develops actors’ instincts, developing students ability to work with greater spontaneity and honesty in the moment. Great for actors at any stage in their career, Level One will reconnect you to your impulses and creative spark. All students new to the Meisner Technique begin at Level One regardless of acting experience.

MEISNER TECHNIQUE LEVEL TWO (pre-requisite: Level 1)
Wednesdays, September 25-October 30

Building on the skills learned in Level One, actors work in improvisation and scenework learning to be emotionally full and truthfully responsive in performance.

MEISNER TECHNIQUE LEVEL THREE (pre-requisite: Levels 1-2)

Actors build their skills with emotional preparation through monologue work using Edgar Lee Masters’ Spoon River Anthology.

DEVISING SPOON RIVER (pre-requisites: Meisner Technique Levels 1-3)
Dates: Mondays, September 30-November 18 
6:30-9:00 p.m.
with public showcase on November 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m.

In this course, open to all students who have completed Meisner Technique Levels 1-3, we will collaboratively devise and perform a script based on monologues from Edgar Lee Masters’ Spoon River Anthology.

The first 3 weeks of class will focus on creating a script in which each student will choose 3 Spoon River monologues, connecting them with dialogue created through Meisner’s improvisation methods. 

The following 5 weeks will be rehearsals incorporating text analysis, character arc, and in-depth examination of relationships and “deepest desires” and staging the script for a public sharing at the end of the course.

Actors Bridge Ensemble refund policy: For the Meisner Series: there are no cash refunds after classes commence. Any student who withdraws after this time will be issued a transferable credit good for up to one year. We can make no transfers after the student has attended 2 or more classes. For classes outside the Meisner Series, there are no refunds after classes commence.



Meisner Levels 1-6

Our first Meisner class begins by teaching you basic concepts and encouraging your instinct and our sixth is for advanced students, with an emphasis on individual performance and longer scenes.

Acting for the Camera

By the end of this class, students should feel confident enough to book an on-camera acting job and begin working on-set like an experienced pro. Join us and find your on-camera potential!

Suzuki Method

The Suzuki method of acting, developed by Tadashi Suzuki, is a physical approach to acting. The Suzuki Method works to build actors’ awareness of their body, especially their center.
