Jill has worked with Academy Award-winning directors and actors for over 20 years. She recently returned to Nashville after a decade in Los Angeles. She is one of our all-time favorite teachers.
This 3-hour workshop will focus on Modern General American English and touch on Standard American as well providing an introduction to Standard British.
As Jill explains:
“Having a regional or age-specific trending accent can kill an audition quicker than anything. Your voice is the third thing people notice about you.”
Modern General American and Standard American dialects give actors the solid foundation to begin investigating other regional and national accents.
Jill’s goal is to give actors the tools to learn dialects deeply and properly and not just mimic what you think you are hearing. Join us and discover how to work with dialects in a way that complement what you do as an actor instead of becoming a barrier to emotional connection.
